Compliance and documents
Safety and documents
A garden trampoline is a product governed by a standard, not just equipment for the lawn. We show which documents are required, what we already have and what we have not confirmed yet.
EN 71-14
The EN 71-14 standard covers trampolines for domestic use. It sets out construction and strength requirements, stability, protection against falling and against contact with the springs, materials, marking and the content of the instructions.
A pictogram in a catalogue photo does not prove conformity on its own. The proof is a test report from a laboratory and an EU declaration of conformity issued by the manufacturer — with the model name, the standard and the date. For the new batch these documents are in preparation and we publish them only after the model is confirmed to match the report.
GPSR — the EU responsible person
Regulation (EU) 2023/988 on general product safety requires that a person responsible for the product be designated for the Union market and that their details be visible to the consumer. This also applies to distance selling.
The details of the responsible person and of the seller are being completed. Until they are confirmed we do not publish names and addresses “on a trial basis”.
Documents that must exist
| Document | What it is for | Status |
|---|---|---|
| EN 71-14 test report | Confirms type testing of a specific model in an accredited laboratory | missing — to be ordered from the manufacturer |
| EU declaration of conformity | A manufacturer’s document stating the standard, the model and the date of issue | in preparation |
| Assembly and user instructions | Mandatory, in the language of the target market; contains warnings and limits | in preparation |
| Warranty card | Warranty terms and periods, how to report a claim | in preparation |
| Product marking | Traceability: model, batch, manufacturer, responsible person | for the new batch |
Safe use
Anchoring
A trampoline without anchors is a temporary structure — a gust of wind can move it. The anchors are driven into the ground and straps tie the frame to the ground.
Covers and net
The spring cover must sit on the perimeter without shifting, and the net must be taut and closed at the entry point. An exposed spring is the most common cause of injury in a fall.
Inspection before the season
Check the mat seams, the condition of the springs, that the bolts are tight and for corrosion at the welds. A damaged part is replaced, not “repaired” with a cable tie.
The user weight limit, the permitted number of users and the way the trampoline is to be used are set out in the instructions for the specific model — not in marketing copy. Until the instructions are published we do not give those values on this page.
What is still missing
- Test reports — we do not have them for the new batch; an old CE logo does not replace a report.
- The EU declaration of conformity — it will be produced together with the technical documentation for the models.
- Instructions in six languages — translation and layout are in preparation.
- The responsible person’s details (GPSR) — without confirmed details there is nothing to publish.
- A seasonal inspection card — it will come together with the Trampoline passport.
We do not approve product conformity on the basis of a CE logo, a photo of a certificate or a seller’s statement. We check the name and the model in the report, the laboratory, the standard and the date — and we publish only documents that pass that check.
